Re: Red River 2023

Too bad they can't control the testosterone. Just gives all bikers a bad name. They should just go out into the desert and get it over with.

Re: Girder discusion

The girder design is my personal favorite, I've always loved them. I would like to build one someday, but have other priorities.

Challenge

Just learned of this. https://www.postiebikechallenge.org/ Apparently a postie bike is a small step-through moped. And people ride them thru the Outback of Australia. Awesome. 3500 kms. "We have done it all … bitumen, sand, dirt, gravel, bulldust, snow, river crossings." I have no clue wha...

Re: My 91 FXR EVO engine

This is the Garlock gasket material I mentioned in an earlier post. I'll use the thinner which is right at 1/16". These are about 6"x6" so I should have plenty to trim to size, as long as I don't screw up.

Re: My 91 FXR EVO engine

Picked up my cylinders from the local machine shop. One of several here. It's a new business started last year, but I've know the owner about 10 years. One of the finest welders I've ever met.

Re: My 91 FXR EVO engine

Through working this season, except for a possible short call out. Currently, I've been asked to be available for a project beginning mid to late February. Alyeska plans to replace a 48" mainline check valve. Considerable work. It's about 45 miles south of Deadhorse, so I expect 12 hour days be...

Re: A Joke or Two...

Hill Top Truckstop is about 20 miles north of Fairbanks, on the way to Prudhoe Bay. Many years ago I was a frequent customer. I stopped by one day when it was pretty full of truckers, and sat on a stool at the end of the counter. Trying to be sociable, I asked the bit guy next to me if he wanted to ...
