Calculating bolt patterns

A friend of mine has enlisted me for machining some wheel spacers for his hot rod Ford. He's putting chevy wheels on it, and I'm all for mix and match customizing. In my efforts to calculate the placement of the bolt holes I found these gems. One is a video explaining the maths. The other is a websi...

Re: Gary is alive

Sure is refreshing to see recent entries here. Yeah, Curt - I scoured the country's internet all last summer for a worthy 67 c10, found one I was gonna trade my 66 Impala for but deal fell thru. Love those trucks. Ended up buying a tool (2004 gmc) instead of a toy. Still working on chopper tools and...

Re: Forum updates completed 8.27

Well, I'm back again also after a long unintentional hiatus.

Thank you for your efforts. This place was instrumental to me and is still very important and inspirational toward The Craft.

Re: drought

...If not for the info, insight, and encouragement from both the CD, and the forum involvement i might never have believed i could do this. Im aware of the hacks, crashes, loss of info, and how much of a pain that all must be to the awesome dedicated people who have tried so long to keep this forum ...

Anyone in New Orleans?

Planning a weekend trip to NOLA soon to visit my dad in his last days. Thought I'd check out any available chopper builder connections.

Any quick fixes for broken ironhead inner primary?

I screwed up today by cranking down on one of the clutch cover screws too much on a 72(?) Sportster and split the aluminum primary (integral to the engine). Just a hairline, visible from the outside, right at the boss where the top screw goes in. I think this happened because there was left over dri...

A question about top rails of the CBH and CSC frame jig

I have a question about purpose of the CBH and CSC frame jig top rails (the 1/2" by 2" flat stock which lays on top of the main rails of the jig) Are they there to keep the rails straight and in line with the center line? Can we do without them? I'm using a heavier wall than normal for the...

Re: Crime Scene Knock Off Jig

This is perfection. And an awesome write up and pictorial as well. Also, I have a question - Is the purpose of the top rails (the 1/2" by 2" flat stock which lays on top of the main rails of the jig) to keep the rails straight and in line with the center line? Can we do without it? I'm usi...

English Wheel DIY.

I figured we aught to have a thread just for these - I didn't see one so I started one. Probably good to lump Full sized E wheels and bench-top styles together here. Go. I stopped by Awful Freight the other day to take some measurements of their E-wheel for reference in building my own bench top ver...

Holy Diaphrams Batman! That's an awesome, uhh..., expose'.
Thanks for all that.
And I thought you moved up there just to get away from it all.

Perhaps, I'll post pics of my progress (or lack or it, unfortunately) when I'm free tonight.

Re: The Chopper Handbook

It’s refreshing to see this thread. My local chopper “king” said it’s not worth it to build your own frame anymore cause they’re so cheap now - $500 on sale… I’ve been working at this frame building art/science for years, tooling up, feeling the burn the whole time. Now this guy whose dedicated his ...
