Savannah, TN? I think I've heard of it before. I believe it's on the way to Memphis, am I correct? I just looked it up and yep, I was right. It's in Hardin County which is just west of Wayne County, which in turn is right next to Lawrence County where I'm from. Very cool!! There's some pretty famous...

Re: Hey Gary?
that's cool, brother. that's great that there are more serious bikers there as well. you might even run into jesse james, if you like him. but being there to take of your mom is awesome, too. being around family is important. i hope everything works out for the better for you.

i read that somewhere, too. ethanol soaks up moisture, hence all the water-removing fuel treatments we have.railroad bob wrote:The new ethanol fuels mandated by the US Feds gather moisture from the air, and if it sits in a tank for extended periods,
the water separates and cause rust corrosion inside the tank.

Re: Paughco Parts Source
Just google Paughco or go to paughco.com I've been using parts from Paughco since the mid sixties and they've had their ups and downs but I'll personally stand behind anything they sell today. I really like their frames and if I didn't build my own I'd use one of theirs. The new single hoop frames ...

Re: making a big move
To my hometown of Loretto. It's about 10 minutes north of the TN/AL state-line. And that's just temporary. I plan to get a place closer to Nashville or Murfreesboro. I don't mind driving a ways if some shop will take me on. But I'm really open to just about anything right now, as long as it appeals ...

Re: painting stainless steel
ok. i just didn't know if it acted like aluminum since it isn't 1020 mild steel like most bike frames are made out of. when i watched the american chopper build off with jesse james and the teutels (ugh, sigh), he didn't paint the frame and he used stainless steel. i machine stainless at my job and ...

Gas doesn't eat metal. :-? Want to block rust? Screw sealer. Go to caswellplating.com and by some flash copper solution. All you'll need is a trickle charger, acetone, some 1/2" copper tubing as your anode and some gauze to wrap the anode with to insulate it from the tank. In about an h...

making a big move
I'm moving back home to Tennessee in August. I've lived here in Indiana for the last 16 years and my ex-wife and I moved to TN back in 2000 but that only lasted 3 months until she got homesick and I gave in and we moved back. So now that I'm finally divorced, I'm going home to be around my family an...
