Re: Site about sidecars and wheelchair access

Hi Bob, don't know whether I'm being blind or stoopid, but I can't see any link?

It sounded interesting so I was going to have a look

Re: Rocket Science and Chopper Building

Interesting topic, personally, I think the one who pointed out that the pioneers that were mentioned DID do the engineering (whether by working the numbers or (more likely IMHO) working it in their heads to what was "right", given their understanding of the issue at hand) is right, either ...

Re: From 3 Carbs to 1

Jeff, I'm no expert by any means, but as Spidr said, you should allow yourself a buffer, this comparison that I dug up when searching for the CFM of my carb (HSR42) shows that pretty well.

Re: From 3 Carbs to 1

That's great info, thanks for that. The bike I'm playing with at the moment is a Viagra XV1000 (previous generation to the XVS1100 donk in your chop), and one of the cafe boys found that it's possible to fit the XVS1100 barrels, heads and internals to the XV1000/XV1100 cases as a simple bolt in oper...

Re: Star

Well those of us who like the ideas that you show are grateful, shows what you can do with the inclination and tools to have a go at it.

Good that your kids have an interest as well, doubt that they'll turn out as your average mall rats either.

Re: Star

You don't see the world like most folk, do ya? ';^) Some interesting (and great) ideas in the direction you're taking this, almost turning into an addictive soap where we anxiously await the next episode to see how it turns out, NOW I'm hanging out for the perimeter brake episode! ;^) Once again, gr...

Re: Star

Don't know about anyone else, but I'd be quite interested in more detail on the twin carb manifold you made up, looks like it would function quite well. ( I have an XV1000 and the intakes are the same between the XV and XVS ).

Some great work you've done there.

Re: Road Rash Article

She's an inspiration, being brave enough to be able to put all that happened out there for the world to see, in hope that she can prevent it happening to others. What gets me though is that the "friend" who was showing off at 120 MPH with a girl on the back who had no real protection on at...

Re: xt500

Nice work, it will be a sweet li'l machine when you finish.

I was hunting for an XT500 for my project, but they're regarded as "classic" bikes over here nowadays and the money for basket cases was crazy, so I went with an XT600 instead.

Re: Wheelies

I'm sure someone more qualified will respond, but I doubt a long front end would make a bike MORE susceptible to lifting, though as you've said they extra weight/leverage out front could make it easier to control. The bike you were riding that was easy to the lift the front with didn't have much nec...

Don't know if this is of interest to others, concrete lathe

Don't know whether this is of interest to others, but I'd have a go if I had the room.
