Re: UL Jug Reclaim

On another note: .... Had another chat with AP Tech Guy.... He said that the .684 is on his blueprint and that is the correct size for the shafts....Also said that it would take more than one Po-Dunk Hillbilly telling him that his blueprint is wrong before any changes are made to it !! .... All righ...

UL Jug Reclaim

Well, once again I seemed to have got another oldie in super sad shape to rebuild. This one is a 1937 UL; Thought I would start at the top and work my way down. Here's what I had to work with... Mostly rust from 30 years of sitting.... First off was a wash up ...Then a blast. [URL=http://s279.photob...

Re: Too much Carb...

A little over 3/4" .... That is at the outside edge of the air horn, the Mushroom cover curls into the horn. It just about keeps the 3/4" all the way into the horn... This being an EL at stock bore (+ .060) and stroke, should be enough to get it to 5,500 rpm's.... I Hope.. He wanted...

Re: Too much Carb...

Much Thanks, Dan

Had the Tom Terrific thinking cap on making this work...

Machined a internal groove in what remained of the S&S Air-stack, got a .050 ridge for the adapter to snap into...

Think I can get away with using some Two Ton Epoxy and for-go the welding...

Re: Too much Carb...

Thanks.... Glad to be here.... Got the Mushroom/Air Stack made up... Think it's a much better custom look over what S&S used for mounts back in the day... Took some time to pull off, but do think the effort was well worth it... http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk140/dragstews/Tools/201...

Re: Too much Carb...

Forgot to say that we are going to run a Morris Snap Mag.... That might make the carb not look so long being the Mag is kinda large too.... Too much Carb...

Been building this motor for about a year and just about got it done. Building it for a fellow that has picked the parts on how he wants it to look... The carb was his choice, along with the dual fuel bowls.. The bowls made for a super long spacer to be used to get room past the pushrods. Now the da...

Re: More Old Guys

Thanks.... Oh, that bike with the Turbo isn't the 52... It's not even a Panhead...That's a build I did from a S&S 96" Super Stock Evo motor with dummy Pan covers. I called it "The 48 lookalike" This is the 52..... [URL=http://s279.photobucket.com/user/dragstews/media/dragstews005/...
