Re: Rear Axle Plates welding?

Re: Lift table

60 gallon tank, but how much pressure? To gain more power, you either need bigger bore cylinder, or more pressure.

My lift is 5" air cylinder also. Shop air is 155 psi on low side - 175 psi on high end.

Re: Tiging Aluminum

Welding 6061 automotive driveshaft assemblies is tough with 100 argon and pure tungsten. I switched to helium / argon mixed. It was like adding a supercharger to the machine. When the amps get high enough to do 0.120" wall tubing, the damn 50 amp breaker kept tripping. The Helium / argon mix , ...

Re: Rear brake issue on new build

Do you have a recommended MC that fits FLST floorboard mounts? 1996 style floorboards?

Rear brake issue on new build

loss of brake pressure Hey guys, I am having an issue I have never had before. I have bleed 100's of systems thru the years, but this one just makes no sense. Rear line, 4 piston Wilwood caliper, standard HD softail Master cylinder, pressure switch for brake line inline. No matter how much I bleed t...

Re: Softail shock bolt

Got the broken bolt out. heated loc-tited area w/ a heatgun, didnt want to screw up the powdercoating. the other 3 bolts were tight still. re-tapped all the holes, all new bolts, and torqued to 105#. I did see the shocks were slightly different in length, less than 0.050", but dead-nutz now. ho...

Softail shock bolt

After 4 years of tinkering on a Softail build for longer travel, I finally got her on the road. Put about 100 miles on her last weekend, but found I had broken a rear shock bolt. sheared it clean off in the swingarm. Any of you seen this before. The other 3 bolts were still tight and loc-tited. my g...

Re: General assembly question

In my world, lock-washers are an evil item. they split, break, fall out, and just are never reliable. Good thread-loc, and proper torque on all fasteners makes the difference. As stated, bolt-tightening sessions are a must for many rides. One piece of advise - if using any type of stainless fastener...
