Re: Dusty's Bonneville Scout Build

I had the combustio0n chamber, gasket surface, bolt holes and plug holes CNCed at a machine shop in Los Alamos then a friend who works much cheaper ( a couple of bottles of Brandy) than the CNC shop and has a Bridgeport cut the fins and the top spot faces. They are Fortal HR which is a little strong...

Re: KRV2000 Milling machine

Are you started on the rebuild yet? I bought a 3 hp Millport variable speed head to put on my Oakley. Found it on Craig's list. It was advertised as fully functional with a slight noise in the variable speed belt area. So far I've only found 3 completely locked up bearings the rest are quite noisy 2...

Re: Dusty's Bonneville Scout Build

Trying out the hydraulic clutch release, it pulls heavy but releases clean enough to turn the output sprocket by hand with it in 1st gear. If it was a street bike I would increase the slave cylinder area. But I can live with it on a racer.

Re: Dusty's Bonneville Scout Build

Whittling the hex out with the mill down takes a little creative use of tools.

Not motorcycle but at least it has a motorcycle emblem

My wood butcher finally finished my custom cedar door after only eight years. https://i.postimg.cc/rsjkHZm7/20200929_122901.jpg It's hard to tell from these pictures but the Indian Motocycle emblems are relief carved. He does beautiful work just not much of it. https://i.postimg.cc/656wZKbK/20200929...

Re: Dusty's Bonneville Scout Build

Started making the head studs out of grade 8 bolts. I'm cutting each one to be a tight fit in the cylinder. So far most are .002 to .0035 oversize. https://i.postimg.cc/nrHJxTYt/20200929-133325.jpg Only a few more to half way. I'll have to trim the one over the intake manifold they are shorter than ...

Re: Modifying a double oven

Two of those stacked with a removable door seal bar and removable floor for the top would hold a frame with the floor removed and with the floor in it would be great for small stuff.

Re: Modifying a double oven

That's neat! My powder coater built this to coat a 12" over Scout fork for me. https://i.postimg.cc/V6kMVNzg/Modifyed-Powder-Oven.jpg Sometimes has a element in the outer end sometimes not. I think it does gooder. Mot as neat as yours but fast and nasty. https://i.postimg.cc/Z5bSNnpY/Closeup-Fo...

Re: KRV2000 Milling machine

A thread on the rebuild and mods would be great. Love me some machine tool porn! I finally got the parts for my Oakley horizontal - vertical- shaper and the vertical head is gone from my barn. Guess the junkie nextdoor hauled it across the scale. Sure ruined my month. Still got enough to put it toge...

Re: Dusty's Bonneville Scout Build

Back appart to enlarge the cylinder and make a new piston.
