Re: Paulie Jr. Moving to Napa
His shit is so gay maybe he should move his shop to San Fransisco! Right smack dab in the middle of the Castro! I lost $800 in San Fran once. Dropped my wallet and kicked the damn thing all the way to Oakland before I dared to bend over and pick it up! :laughing-rolling: :o   :confusion...

Re: a Jig is just a Tool
Well put. A jig will not compensate for improper technique either. Just because your frame is in a jig doesn't mean you can just weld the piss out of it and everything will still come out straight and true. Weld it wrong and you can actually bend your fixture from the weld stress. Something to think...

Re: power saw
Curt my grandfather had on of them in the shop for like forever! My dad had it till the mid 80's when my mom died and dad decided to sell out and retire. His had a mechanism that shut it off when the saw bottomed out. It cut like a fool. We used it to cut grouser bars to rebuild worn out bulldozer t...

Re: 1979 Honda CB750 Bobber build
For the average chopper head building only one frame a jig is really not necessary. A good welding table will suffice and will have a lot more uses later. Jigs are great if you want to manufacture frames and need to repeat the same frame more than once but for a one off frame it's a waste of your ti...

Re: oil tank
You'll really need to fit your oil tank to your build. Poster board and scotch tape.
Just try to mock it up in poster board. Once you get it to the exact shape you
can cut the tape and use it to form your final templates. Then it's cut, grind, shape,
weld, sand, etc.
