I haven't tried it, but you might have an idea. If you can adapt xacto jaws to the soldering iron maybe you can make cutters.

I've seen plans for that. Thinking of building one. Small homebuilt airplanes use 1/2 vw engines sometimes.

Good luck on the money thing. I throw my change in a 5 gal water jug. It takes a minute, but at about $100/inch it ends up being $12-1400 a jug full. I also keep pennies, no clue how much it holds in just silver change. Thanks on the engine stand from me as well, Its on the "useful shit to buil...

I think it came down to- practice and destroy welds until you are confident, because the various non-destructive inspections are not neccessarily accurate with the type of coped and mitered joints involved in chopper frames.
