Tat .... I drill the holes and cut slits to the hole that makes 4 slots with no stress risers . Tube is then beveled and welded to the joint, then welded all the way around, after tacks are made at the slots to stop pulling .... might not have been clear ... been a while since this post ... ; ))

This tape is 2 " wide thin aluminum with glue to seal metal duct and aluminum faced fiber board... there are 2 thicknesses one blue, one red ...? .... not sure which is which, but makes a good shim that sticks in place ..... used by "bondo" shops the back up rust holes before the bond...

I have a pen knife that my unk used to scrape babbit bearing in his Model A ... this cutter was cheap and if it last to make a couple of sets, was worth it .... I just need a pinch fit ..... the aluminum duct tape will keep from scratching the chrome.... bought some black Rit dye, to anodize them bl...

I was wrong ,,,,, Yeah, it happens ... ; ) Was in Hongkong and he showed me the 39mm and It will be here in a couple of weeks.... Well, that's out , unless you want to send me a free one ..... was in the UK !! Found a 40mm and will use aluminum tape for ac ducts to shim... It is just to mount a windshield.

No ....... but they will be shaped like a "P", 39 mm holes, split and drilled and tapped to fit to 39mm legs. The leg part will stick out to the side and be drilled and tapped for button-head hex machine screws. I can draw up something. To keep them from being so bulky, 1/4-20 or smaller,...
