if i remember right it was the quality of the chrome plating and springs and rocker bushings and that they were made for very light weight setups . i would try it being you already have it might end up playing around with springs maybe rockers a little but if you built one you would probably do the ...

i also used bitter end neck on that build it ended up at 44 degrees i think the heat from welding changed it it was 45 but that neck was thick and took some good heat from the tig welder .

http://www.choppercompendium.com/ccforum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=9 i welded the stem to the bottom tree . the top nut sets the bearing preload and the top tree sits on the rear legs and the shoulder of the nut with just enough pressure to keep the top nut from moving and keeping the tree from twist...

i didnt do a counter bore when i did mine i drilled the 1 1/4 hole that slid over the shoulder on the nut then tightend everything up on the bike with the wheel and spacers before welding the lower tree to the rear legs . i did counter bore the top tree for the rear legs 1/2 inch . nice work there b...

thanks bob . it was a lot for a dyna hand controls lower belt guard headlight bucket side covers and the script . but i love ghost flames in candy so easy to bury the edges under the paint and clear
