Re: Air brush painting

I was going to post the link for airbrush-tech.com but the site has been taken down. They had good tutorials and technical data for airbrush, paint & bodywork.

If you find some good links post 'em up for our perusal.

Re: P-clamps .....

See...I knew you could do it. I'm not overly fond of duct tape. Too much glue, breaks down in sunlight. You may think of vinyl elect. tape...or better yet, cut an inner tube for a rubber spacer. Then you could make the hole oversized and maybe use an American sized hole. Just a thought.

Re: P-clamps .....

Assemble the clamps using a washer to seperate the halves. Drill as close as you can...then file to suite. You can scribe a mark to file to and hold in a vice to help keep it square. When you get close, clamp in place and slide the clamp over the surface to find the high spots. Use a bearing scraper...

Re: Indian Mark's 1911 build

I admire the work you're putting into this. Holding it is one thing...squareing it, verifying, resetting your datum and checking again so you don't scrap all work to date is a chore that requires patience and "skill". My father had been building an alum compression arm since the 60's. He u...

Re: Indian Mark's 1911 build

It is a sweet treet to see this progress. My father said in job shoping he could always underbid since everyone else included the price of fixturing. He developed a style of workholding using modular clamping. Oddly enough, even when he started doing volume, he would still setup modular workholding....

Re: SPRINGER QUESTION

...It's a good way to make anything that isn't placed under stress but as to 'casting' trees or something like that I wouldn't want to be riding that particular project. That's not a rule is it? lol I would have to agree. I used to work in a foundry and the spent alot of time testing and adding all...

Re: Help with Welds

I've only had this happen to me twice. 1st was running out of gas...can you hear/feel the gas flow. The 2nd was using painted filler rod (long story)...cleaned off the paint and it fixed the problem.

Re: Brass Knuckles

It's been a good rally. Alot of people showin up. These trophies were well recv'd. The braze actually took on a patina after I clear coated them. I wonder how they'll look in a year.

I should have had the band play that song!!!
