Re: Rocket Science and Chopper Building
This is directed toward YONA, but, relates to this thread perfectly. I often play devil's advocate, but, not here. When I was about 8, my father took me into the city (NYC) to run errends. We visited my uncles shop were he had 20 bridgeports lined up. 40 lathes were being delivered the following wee...

Re: Rocket Science and Chopper Building
To make a long story short...The advent of the forums have brought alot of people together. The guys with the experience realised the limits of their knowledge...or simply got tired of answering the same questions over and over andd... This led to the innocuous list of rules that must never be chall...

Re: Rocket Science and Chopper Building
.... It seems like folks have forgotten or ignored the past and want to go 'high-tech' ... This is an interesting thought. As a kid, I was real interested in the cars and bikes of the 1800's. The progress from covered wagons to steam power...The huge front wheeled bicycle to Harley and Davidson. Th...

Re: Spool gun on Hobart 140
I got a spool gun with my Snap-On mig. I may not have had it set right, but, a year later when I got my TIG, I put the spool in a box and don't even know where it is now. I was not impressed with mine. It had poor penetration and didn't look good. I was welding heavy cast to billet and they all seem...

Re: RED LIGHT CO. BRIBED OFFICIALS
IMO...It's all 'bout the power and control. The money is just the icing on the cake. I have asserted my rights as a free soal in my local community. The last time I was pulled over illegally, I took it to the pros. atty. who dismissed the charges. The last time I was pulled over ( a week ago for 62 ...

Re: RED LIGHT CO. BRIBED OFFICIALS
I wish they would do away with the cams entirely. The people of one local town got so pissed they stormed a city coucil meeting to remove the cams. Last I heard, they only turned them off. The arguments they used were that the people manning the cams were not cops and unable according to law to issu...

Re: internal throtle cable build
Still a good idea. Thanx for sharing.
It reminds me of the thoughts I had as a kid, like the idea of the screw and nut. What gave him the idea, what tools did he use to make it, and most importantly...how well did it work.
Keep it up!

If you like this type of R&D...I'ld say to go for the finish.
A few things I noticed...You got slpo in your setup. You may not have accounted for the backlash of your mill.

Most patches can't carry since they get harassed alot. Any patch pulled over, legaly or not, will have his gun impounded, CC permit or not.

Re: Road Rash Article
The thing that got me about the story is that she refused to hold on to the guy even after she realised she was in trouble. I was in the exact same situation when... i was 17 on the back of a KZ1000. The guy tried to get me to hold on, but I wouldn't do it. He wanted to pass a row of 15 cars on the ...

Re: Tank Mods & Welding
Well, this current ice storm is kicking my ass. Had to climb on the roof yesterday to drain the water trapped under the ice. When I climbed down to get the claw hammer, the wind blew the ladder over. Caution is starting to be important to me, particularly now that I'm working in a foundry. Yona, adv...
