Looking good Curt. The first one is always fun. The only other advice I can give ya is that your axle journals that you will weld on to the bottom of the legs will shrink/deform on the ID.

Plenty of rosette welds is what I would be doing. If you think about roof truss girders, all they are is trusses stacked together will a specifiec nail pattern. Bevel your edges well, rosettes and I think it would work.

In most applications I would say yes and you might also want to throw in some rosette welds.

I revamped my fixture. Years ago I had another person drill the holes for it. His idea of accuracy and mine are a little different so I welded up the holes and redrilled them. I also didn't like how loose it was when assembling it so I also reamed some 3/8" holes for locator pins on all parts. ...
