Re: Learn to weld
Seat time is very important but technique is also important. Practice a lot but also ask a lot of questions. Spent most of my career welding or teaching others to weld. The guys that would listen and practice usually made it into the field faster. Here's a site that is full of great info. http://www...

Re: any one done a dohc cb 750 rear hardtail?
For me anyways, I've always felt that the dohc's looked better on a total custom frame, There's so much to remove from a stock frame to even get close to looking good it's insane to try and save much more than the neck and numbers. But hey, to each his own. Here's a pic of a good looking dohc chop. ...

Yeah, nice blog man! The techs at the shipyard used de-ox on all them connections.
Breakdowns on the equipment were rare.

Personally I would weld them both sides. Just take your time and don't overheat them or the tubing.

Re: gas tank sealing and ordering from a catalog/online webs
Gas doesn't eat metal. :-? Want to block rust? Screw sealer. Go to caswellplating.com and by some flash copper solution. All you'll need is a trickle charger, acetone, some 1/2" copper tubing as your anode and some gauze to wrap the anode with to insulate it from the tank. In about an ho...

Re: Tank Mods & Welding
Iam going to use the thinnest wire I can find to run on my mig .5, was wondering if you could put the mounting blts though a bung vertical like, into the botton of the tank? When mig welding sheet metal switching from 75% Ar-25%CO2 to 92% Ar-8%CO2 The decrease in CO2 decreases penetration and heat ...

Re: triumph frame build
I always loved them Brit bikes. (Had a few Nortons in my day) Never liked the backbone/oil tank though. Too big and bulky for me. Trump chops look so much better with a hardtail and an actual oil tank. Preferably a chrome one. Great score though. Take your time they make some righteous chops when do...

Gay Flight attendant My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks. As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that 'Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be ...

Re: My girder & frame project - Anything blatantly wrong?
Wait till the end to build your girder legs. You can always do a mockup of the legs with some 3/4" plywood. In most cases if the front of the lower frame rails are @ 1.5" higher than the back at the roller stage then the stance is about right with the final load on the bike. Still a killer...

Re: My girder & frame project - Anything blatantly wrong?
The only thing that bothers me is that the girder legs are too short for my liking. As a rolling frame with no motor, trans, tins, tanks, fuel or rider/passenger your lower frame rails are sitting level. The only movable parts in the suspension is the front end. So, where are the lower frame rails g...
