SELF INTRODUCTION: Hey what's up y'all. Glad I found this site again. I was a member of the old board under the name JV. I deployed and when I came back the website was dead. Glad I googled chopperbuilderhandbook on a whim whe I was bored. I don't currently have a bike (at least not in the same part of the country) but in the near future I am gonna pick up a sportster or a buell to chop. I have only had a couple of bikes and only built one so I am happy to be on a site with so much knowledge. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to share more knowledge then I have taken. Thanks y'all.

SELF INTRODUCTION: I was on the last board as bonustoolkit. I have changed that to my given name.
I started a project build there " File and Fit." I paln to continue that when I go back home in Dec. 2011. I first joined the board when Gary W had it in the year 2005. That was the time I really gained an interest in building chops. I have a long way to go, compared to some here.

SELF INTRODUCTION: Hi Dan, thanks for your time and energy spent on this new board. I hope you will give me a waiver on the email account, I have used gmail so long I don't have a clue what my service provider account is.
I just returned home from a 2 week trip in New Mexico, have a few good pix, can't wait to share my off-highway traveling. Got to put 1400 miles on the scoot.

Congrats on the retirement, that is a hell of an achievement. If you can retire from the military, you can weld...

I can weld a little bit. Wouldn't want to bet my life on it though.

SELF INTRODUCTION: I am active duty USAF and have built a 81 Ironhead chop. I have the bike building bug and I dont want to shake it. Here to learn as much as I can and hopefully give advise to some others as well. I recently picked up a 71 Triumph 650 basket case motor from a good buddy for pretty cheap. I plan on getting that thing built then building a motorcycle around it. Not 100 percent sure on the direction I am going to go with it but it should be fun and keep me busy. I also enjoy building my own tools when I can. I have picked up most the metal to build a tube bender and have plans to build my own porta-band stand and lift.

Welcome back and congrats on getting to retirement. I am half way to my 20. Welding is fun, I started my learning at a local community college, after that it is practice practice and more practice. Good luck on your next project, just got my Ironhead back on the raod but going to be changing it again soon.
