RED LIGHT CO. BRIBED OFFICIALS

February 8, 2014 -- (TRN) -- The former top salesman for a red-light ticket-issuing camera company has claimed in court documents that his company "bribed" officials in 13 different states, to win contracts for installation of money-making red light cameras! If YOU received a ticket at one of those lights, you could go back to court and argue it was the product of an ongoing criminal conspiracy and maybe get your money back.

A fired executive from one of New Jersey’s red-light camera vendors contends in a lawsuit filed in Arizona that the company provided lavish gifts and bribes to government officials in 13 states — including New Jersey — to secure new contracts.

The brief but bombshell reference to New Jersey and other states in a 13-page counterclaim was made by Aaron Rosenberg, former nationwide lead salesman for Redflex Traffic Systems of Phoenix. He did not mention specific municipalities from any of the states.

Rosenberg noted in the suit that Redflex “bestowed gifts and bribes on ... officials in dozens of municipalities within, but not limited to the following states: California, Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia, and Georgia.”

He said Redflex bribed local officials with meals, golf outings and tickets to professional football and baseball games. The expenses were listed as categories such as “entertainment” and “celebratory tokens,” according to the suit.

That is worth looking into. This could go in your favor. It may be worth it for other reasons.

"Because of our lawsuits, now we believe the camera systems will be operated correctly going into the future," DeNittis said.
"The point of the class action was to ensure proper conduct in the future. I would hope people would follow through and file a claim."

I wish they would do away with the cams entirely. The people of one local town got so pissed they stormed a city coucil meeting to remove the cams. Last I heard, they only turned them off.

The arguments they used were that the people manning the cams were not cops and unable according to law to issue citations. Secondly, traffic violations must be personally witnessed by an officer. Cameras, according to traffic law, become hear-say evidence.

It's all about what the local citz are willing to subject themselves to...in order to protect themselves from you. You bad evil rolling red light stopper you.

IMO...It's all 'bout the power and control. The money is just the icing on the cake.

I have asserted my rights as a free soal in my local community. The last time I was pulled over illegally, I took it to the pros. atty. who dismissed the charges. The last time I was pulled over ( a week ago for 62 in a 55), the guy couldn't get rid of me quick enough when he learned my name.

I called the sheriff on the local town that kept pulling me over illegally. Within 3-mnths they had fired the mayor, got rid of half the city council, and within 4-mnths had disbanded the police dept entirely.

What the police, the largest patch club in the nation, count on is that one man alone will just want to get it over with and pay the money. Trust me...it's a power game. And, the last thing you want is to let a patch punk you, even if you got to take a beating, or they'll be back for more.

Polite and respectfull, but, stand your ground. I took my stand at 10-over the limit. That ground is firmly mine now.
