Just found this place, good to read about the real builders and the stuff they do.
My background goes back to the late 60's watching my Dad rebuilding old Triumphs me sitting on the bench watching him, through to my son riding and racing bikes (still is although currently crook with a busted ankle), I came through the late 70's on the Jap stuff you know the Z900, H2 sort of thing so I have mainly ridden that type of bike. I raced bikes through the 80's until wife n kids came along (although always rode on the road as well) from the racing thing I have been involved in race teams for quite a few years and built tuned maintained modified all of my sons race bikes - BUT with the modern way of racing and the rules its got to the point that interest has wained.....
On the Chopper side, whilst admiring some of the builds and engineering solutions and indeed riding with my friends who are/were chopper nuts and the associated lifestyle thing (which I will draw a veil over) I have never really owned or worked on them.
So to today, I wanted a ride to work hack, you know something I could cruise down the shops on, go away at weekends and ride to work (like I used to in the 80's) I managed to get hold of a 1987 Kawasaki EN450 ( yea I know a metric plastic chopper from the 80's, and pretty crap with it!) within a week it was bobbed and I found this forum.
So just to say hello and will I offend you guys if I put up a few shots of my shit jap pseudo chpper????
