fender width recommendations

• 180-series tire recommended rim size is 5.50”, 5.50” rim size minimum and 6.00” rim size maximum; overall tire width is approximately 7.4” (187mm), tire diameter is approximately 25.8” (655mm) recommended fender width 8.5”
• 200-series tire recommended rim size is 5.5, overall tire width is 198mm/7.8″, tire diameter is approximately 679mm/26.7″, recommended fender width 9”
• 250-series tire recommended rim size is 9.00”, 8.50” rim size minimum and 9.50” rim size maximum; overall tire width is approximately 10” (252mm); tire diameter is approximately 25.9” (659mm), recommended fender width 11”
• 280-series tire recommended rim size is 10.00″, overall tire width is 277mm (10.90″), tire diameter is 25.79″, recommended fender width 12”
• 300-series tire recommended rim size is 10.5”, 10” rim size minimum and 11” rim size maximum; tire outside diameter is approximately 664mm (26.3”); tire outside width is approximately 327mm (11.8”), recommended fender width is 13”
• 330-series tire recommended rim size is 12”, 11.5” rim size minimum and 12.5” rim size maximum; tire outside diameter is approximately 25.0” (634mm), tire outside width is approximately 13.0” (330mm), recommended fender width is 14”
--Fender width recommendations are based on ½” fender side spacing allowing for internal struts and sidewall clearance. Not internally reinforcing the fender may allow you to go skinnier in fender width.
