I draw some and copy a lot ... lol..... I size the art work to the size of the seat and print it out . Then I use clear plastic sheet and trace it on to the plastic.... I like to use an old roller ball ink pen that has on ink. The clear give you a easy way to position the art.( There is clear letter size sheet that you can print on .)I then use to pen to emboss the design into the leather. The leather has to be cased... ( wet ) and that is trial and error unless you have someone to show you. Tools can be made or bought.... if you make them , use stainless rod. Steel will leave black permanent marks on the leather. You can get cheap sets of tools at BSA. Scouts troops give lessons all the time.... learning to lace is not hard.... Tandy has a cheap book on basics... I will see if I have some links...

That is a good write-up..... If you can't make a saddle after that..... step away from the motorcycle !!
