SELF INTRODUCTION: Hi people's
I'm 36 from Sydney Australia , been modding bikes (mostly 80s 2 bangers) since I was 16 , finally decided that I will try my hand at a chopper /bobber bike,
I'm a welding specialist at BOC so have a pretty good knowledge of things about welding and cutting , so hopefully I will be able bring some know how to the forum.
Looking forward to the challenge of a full ground up build as all of my builds have been just frame modding ,like my RZ 350 wit R6 rear sub frame and tank.
I've been married for 8 months but with the lovely lady for 14 years
And she loves me being in the Shed and I'm not messing up the house :)

SELF INTRODUCTION: I was on the last board as bonustoolkit. I have changed that to my given name.
I started a project build there " File and Fit." I paln to continue that when I go back home in Dec. 2011. I first joined the board when Gary W had it in the year 2005. That was the time I really gained an interest in building chops. I have a long way to go, compared to some here.

make sure to buy washers and shim stock to take up the slop in the die area. Not enough people stabilize the die when setting up their benders. Also look at the tube clamp method. We posted a better clamp style and it allows close bends. all in all you are building it yourself and that is awesome.

Thanks mate
Yeh I'll shim it all up I'm just trying to find a 2nd hand die , (really hard in aus) I'll look into your design on the clamp .
Come the new year I'll just bite the bullet and buy new dies as I have a chopped up xs650 that needs a hardtail on my home built frame jig :D

SELF INTRODUCTION: Have always liked choppers since I was a kid, never thought I had skills enough untill I found the "Handbook" sight just recently. Reading the info posted on the "Hand book" sight made me think maybe I can.
I have a little experience fabricating things.

Hello,
Let me start by saying I'm a newbie here and yes, I know this thread is a couple years old, but I really like the design of this bender (I'm assuming it is a JD2 clone) and I was wondering where on the main site (as indicated in the opening post) it was located. I found the plans for the CBH Bend-o-matic but I am looking for something with the flexibility that I can use to make some handlebars as well as a frame and this bender looks like it is just the ticket.
If anyone has the plans for this bender or knows where they are posted I would really appreciate it if they could post them or send them to me or point out where they are.
Thanks very much in advance, I'd also like to mention that this a great site with tons of great info (sounds like I'm just sucking up but really it's the truth.)
Thanks
Mark

SELF INTRODUCTION: I'm just an old chopper builders who still dabbles in the craft and I hope that I can contribute something to the discussions as time goes by. Most of you already know that I started the Chopper Builders Handbook site so you're probably already familiar with my philosophy on choppers and chopper work.
