Flywheel assembly clamp

Post by budoka »

hey all,

as part of rebuilding the crank on my knuck, i'm gonna need to true the flywheels. to get them in the ballpark, you need something to hold the flywheels as you bolt them together and begin to tighten them. i'm sure most of you have seen the kind of homemade clamps people use for this, but just in case someone isn't familiar with them, here's how you can make them.

you need 2 pieces of c-channel steel, a length of 1/2" threaded rod, and two 1/2" nuts. my c-channel is 125mm tall, 65mm wide, 6mm thick, and 130mm long.

to be continued…

-experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.
