1970 Ironhead Project

Post by BlueCollarMoto »

I just got her running the other day and been riding around just as happy as can be. Far from finished though. Been working on the rear fender mounting today. I'll have that finished up tomorrow. These pix are only one from each post. There are about five pix per post on average along with the progress story for the pix. I was not going to do anything with this bike till after I started my metal foundry and made myself a oil bag and gas tank. Sick of not having my other bike running though.

What I started with after installing the seat and rear wheel and brake day one.

Image
What I had her looking like the last time I built her.

Image
How she was sitting just the other day. I changed the bars and started on the fender mount since then. As well as riding her around all over the place.

The above pix are not in order with the links. The links are in order though. Something weird happened when I copied them to Photobucket. More progress pix tomorrow.

I started the project with the idea of getting her running and going for a ride for under $10. I accomplished that with parts I had laying around from other bikes and projects. Now that I have begun spending more cash on her I still don't think I've spent much more than $30. That's including new plugs and welding rod and the slugs for fender mounting. This is gonna be a cheap build.
