Neck bearings arrived today also.
Tree's dropped off at lunch to have them drilled out to 15/16. Will work them out to size from there.

just curious, but how did you cut out the trees? do i feel a handheld grinder in there? i *am* quite partial to my grinder.

Yes sir. There is quite a bit of machine work in this. Trying to keep a balance between machine and me. That way I can say it's mine at the end of the day. Not all bought.

Tree almost done. Still have to drill for pinch bolt. But atleast now it is starting to look like something. LOL

may just be the pics but they look like cold welds. What welder are you using and what settings?

Melted a little steel a min ago.
It was set low when I tacked it. Welded sheet metal with it last.
She is set HOT now.

still looks like the weld is sitting on top of the metal

You are right there was very little penatration. Almost none. But in the second picture I changed over to a different welder. The first machine had a board burnt up in it. Retacked and welded it with the hotter welder.

Starting to look like a tree now.

Got the stem fitted up, cut and now welded.

Painted the top tree to keep it from rusting for now.
Bottom tree still to hot.LOL

Mounted up the tree to check final measurements. Looks like I need to repaint the frame. Dang over spray. LOL

2 5906K514 Sae 841 Solid Bronze Thrust Bearing, For 1/2" Shaft Diameter, 1" Od, 1/8" Thick

Optional bearing. I ordered both flanged and sleeved bearings.
1 6391K221 Sae 841 Bronze Sleeve Bearing, For 1/2" Shaft Diameter, 3/4" Od, 1/2" Length
