Thanks!

Here is your print updating the bearing preload and final tree distance from each other.

The forks print is there also and has been lengthened the 1in needed for the legs.

Killer Work by the way!

The motion print has also been updated.

All your clearances work for your shock to be fixed to top tree.

That looks to be almost a perfect shock for a Girder. Could you post the make and model for us if you didn't already do it and I missed it.

It is basically any old jap shock. This one is 12.25in in length but can get 10.5 to 13.5 depending on the girder you are building.

The spring will be 2.25 in in width and the outer cover 2.5 to 2.75 in but that can be removed. They all will have 2.5 to 3 in of travel. The girder he is building has a little less than 2 in travel for full motion so there is .5 to 1 in for adjustment depending on the shock.

I gave him several examples and told him only to worry about the outer diameter of spring to be 2.25 and the overall length for travel fully extended. I build the print and the girder systems to this over travel point. Then if the shock needs modified a spacer is put under the spring to adjust ride height.

Here is the listing for all the different 12.25 on ebay now.

Did a layout on the legs this mourning so I could get the feel of how they are going to look.
Following an step that Gary did in the handbook on a springer. Paper or computer screen can only show you so much.

Girder leg jig.
Marked the center line down the jig plate for the center of my legs. Measured out and marked my upper and bottom mount(axle).
Image
Marking the rotational line. This is the distance between the upper and lower pivot points on the trees.
Image
Measuring off the leg center line on the jig to the rotation line. To mark the lower offset in the girder legs.

Upper end marked. Ready to drill the holes to hold the mounts for the Girder legs.
