SELF INTRODUCTION: Hello everyone. first of all a big thanks to "Dan the Man". Some of you know me from the previous (2) boards and some don't, so here goes. I have been a fabricator/welder for over 40 years now. Damn that's a helluva long time to do anything! Anyways, I have built literaly 100's of street rods, pro streeters, racecars, bikes and trikes over the years. Never made the headlines and never will. I do what I do because it is the love of my life.
I enjoy reading the posts on the forum and try to contribute when I can. I am sure that this will be every bit as good as the CBH forum, as we will have most of the same folks. Good luck and post a lot of pics!! Jim

Coming along nicely Curt. Got tubing for the legs yet? (never mind my question, you must have been posting pics while I was typing)
Looks great though.

ok took me some time to track down the wheels i want to use had to settle for a fat boy rear but ill change it out later for a spoke wheel got the rear on and had to make a stand for the front because i dont have a tire yet but i know the height when the tire is on because its the same as the one on my dyna . got the frame proped up where i want it to sit at when im rideing it measured and cut the rear legs i fishmouthed the tubes and welded on the ends for the rockers . now that i got them done i gotta get outa work early enough to hit my friends shop hes got a much bigger lathe so i can fit the tubs through the chuck and square them up and make shure theyre exactly the same length . hoping i can get free tomorrow .i got my springs and rods and all the hardware for those took some time to figure out the reamer (thanks dan for the help while going through all the nightmare of the old bord and new and your knuck ) it turns out its a taper pin reamer number 8 and if ya drill the hole 7/16 it saves a lot of reaming . once i got the first hole done and knew what size the hole was i stuck drillbits down the hole till the bigest one fit through the small end and drilled the other hole with it then it was a very light ream just had to put the taper in it and a lil more gotta b carefull . then i put the springs together i made a tool to do it it was real easy to make from scrap ill post some pics tomorro left work so i could try and make my friends shop before he left didnt make it oh well tomorrows another day

Fer all the dumpster divers out there , the shaft out of wornout and discarded shocks and mcpherson struts is an ideal source of neck stems , springer spring rods and a lot of other applications !

They come in many sizes but are uniformly very hard and TOUGH !!
