Want opinions

I have an unused DNA springer, 2" over length, I'm possibly going to use this on a chopper build, with a Santee frame, 100CI evo motor.

I've heard years past that these didn't have a very good reputation, but don't remember much more than that.
I'm expecting big HP and torque from this motor, and sometimes I ride pretty hard. Not wheely hard,
but I like to twist the throttle in the right place and time.

Has anyone used these, or have first hand knowledge about the durability and performance?

if i remember right it was the quality of the chrome plating and springs and rocker bushings and that they were made for very light weight setups . i would try it being you already have it might end up playing around with springs maybe rockers a little but if you built one you would probably do the same anyway

Just got home, saw this...
Thanks Curt, I think I'll follow your suggestion. Not concerned about the looks as much as the performance.

hey Bob, late coming into this discussion, but other than the obvious visual checks on the weld quality (almost useless, but better than not looking), i'd look to make sure the rockers are not riding on a threaded portion of the rocker bolts, but rather a solid unthreaded portion.

i also seem to remember a lot of complaints about the thickness of the tubing in the front legs, but don't quote me on that.

take care,
