Still no spark.....does this look like it should fire wired like this.

looks like it should to me question though most brit bikes are positive ground never had a triple though so I could be wrong reason I ask is alternator might be fucking with you if itsrunning in reverse polarity

This was originally pos ground, I'm just more used to neg ground. The tympanium unit had instructions to wire either pos or neg ground to the alternator, so that shouldnt be a problem. Guess I have to strip it & start over.....this is fucking killing me.

the problem I have had with some triumph and bsa alternators was the alternator will ground positive out through the mounting studs sometimes and while the timpanium unit will let you wire it either way it can play hell sending positive spikes through the motor to the battery making everything haywire I have had one of those battery eliminator capacitors explode that way . you could try disconnecting the battery from the bike disconnect your power wire from coil and run a jumper from the pos to frame then neg to coil to see if you get spark that way eliminating everything else will let you track it down easier

Nice link Nate...I'll have to save that. Looks to be wired right. I'm gonna strip it all out & rewire...maybe do it pos ground this time.I'll let yas know what happens.

It might be worth taking the condensers off and seeing if you get a spark. If might be misremembering but I think some condensers are polar sensitive and blow at the slightest hint of trouble. leaving you with an open circuit.

Good luck with this, sparks are pain in the neck I nearly torched my Sportster a while back when the ignition reduced me to tears (we're friend again now).

I got most of the bike rewired. Ran power to each coil instead of powering them in series, dont know if it makes a difference or not. Drop from 8mm to 7mm plug wires. They seat into the coils much better. Actually think this is where most of my problem was. Kept neg, ground. Might jump the coils to see if plugs fire. Got to reinstall advance unit & points.
