proof of concept for the hydraulic clutch. The foot clutch worm moves the clutch .085" out, this first prototype moves .150"
Don't need much changing but must move the line fitting outboard and change the bore a little. I'll be laying down way too much for the foot clutch to be handy. Had originally planed on cable operated setup. but sumptin similar caught my eye.

SELF INTRODUCTION: I'm from Arkansas. Farm equipment mechanic. Love working on bikes with my 7yr old daughter. Single dad. Doing it all on my own. Good standing member over on the Honda rebel forum and TCU forum. My first chopper build was a Honda Rebel 250. Looking for a big brother to it. A Honda Rebel 450. I'm wanting to build a girder for the 250 and was told that this is the place to come for knowledge and help.

Started making the head studs out of grade 8 bolts. I'm cutting each one to be a tight fit in the cylinder. So far most are .002 to .0035 oversize.
Only a few more to half way. I'll have to trim the one over the intake manifold they are shorter than the rest.

Trying out the hydraulic clutch release, it pulls heavy but releases clean enough to turn the output sprocket by hand with it in 1st gear. If it was a street bike I would increase the slave cylinder area. But I can live with it on a racer.

I had the combustio0n chamber, gasket surface, bolt holes and plug holes CNCed at a machine shop in Los Alamos then a friend who works much cheaper ( a couple of bottles of Brandy) than the CNC shop and has a Bridgeport cut the fins and the top spot faces. They are Fortal HR which is a little stronger than 7075 and free cutting.

Made an A-dapter out of a 3/4" bolt to mount the S&S degree wheel to the Scout. Soon as I make a couple of drive pins and press the cams together it'll be time to index the cams.

After 2 days of nothing making any sense I figured that the matched set of valve lifts had one exhaust lift that that was .090 shorter than the other. Think different ratio rocker arm on one valve Damn I hate e-bay sellers! Got that replaced with one out of my bucket of miss matched lift shafts. then a .100" offset pin retarding the rear cam made everything come out within a half degree.
