This where I have stopped because now I need to figure out the rotation and angle for the next bend. Due to the fact that I'm using a single down tube, I want to make this joint look "right". I am using Garys cr250-4 plans for this portion, but it's difficult to figure out because the bend at the top part of the so called "ramp" goes "up" and "in" at the same time. I'll get it as soon as I can do some testing with some more EMT. This is the tube marking tool I made out of a BMX bicycle foot peg from one of my kids old bikes. I fits perfectly over the 1.25" tube.

Oh and (of course) I f*ck'd up and made the rear kick up too short, but I can fix that. The right rail is done up the point where I stopped.

I cut out the axle plates and machined the slot with the help of my bro and his Bridgeport. We also cut out the rear motor and front trans mounts and the forward mounts. I also bent up the left side lower tube and it matches the right side nicely. I wanted to put the large 66" radius bend in the front down tube, but the 3' foot length of tube I have was too short to use in my brothers large tube roller. I'll need to pick up a longer piece in order to roll the radius.

I figured out the final bend for the lower tubes. I rotated the tube 0.750" and made a 46* bend in to the center to bring the tubes together at the down tube. I just need to finish cutting the miters. It turned out looking pretty good I think. I'm not sure how I'll finish the bottom of the down tube, maybe just cap it or leave it open.

It's starting to look like a frame. Almost time to stick some pipe together.

Hey y'all I started back on this project. I got the frame tacked up and partially welded out. I bolted it together to check the look. Its ten feet long.

It'll get a plate on either side of the neck.

I have a 5 speed trans and a rear pulley coming. Im going to mount the trans, put a drive belt on and get the rear hub spacers cut. I need an engine case too, I sold off all my Harley parts a couple years ago, so Im on the hunt for a motor, prolly just use an 80 inch evo if i can find one cheap.

Im thinking of using a 23 inch front wheel laced to a spool hub, the fork is too narrow for a brake. Im also going to build new rockers and get rid of the crazy pointy things.

Thanks man. Yeah, I'm not quite sure where this is going...

I installed a pulley and mocked up the trans position, looks like it will line up nicely. I had to dimple the tubes a bit to get pulley clearance.
I calculated a 126T belt, which is what all the early Belt drive Shovels take, 20.5" center to center. I may run a Twin cam motor if I can find one cheap, the bigger the better.

I cut out some rockers and ordered some Oilite bushings. I had to get rid of the ork stabbers. I want to run a 5/8 axle with a spool laced to a 23" hoop. Any thoughts? The original rockers has needle bearings and we only 5/16" thick, so floppy and suicidal as hell.

More progress, installing the motor mounts
