Re: La Puttana ------Build------ Ride her hard, Sell her Che
Thanks guys!
I can not wait to ride it myself. It is cold here but if it was ready i would be riding. I hope when it is ready i can bring myself to stop test riding to break down for paint?
I think I got a really simple plan for the internal throttle and clutch parts that anybody can make easy with tube stock? We will see?

Re: La Puttana ------Build------ Ride her hard, Sell her Che
This jig has turned out to be a POS for what I had intended!
BUT it does do one thing really well!
Over .005 cut it does not make a perfect cut.
So, it drill the beging and end hole and use grinder to cut the line made from milling.
Grinding cut
After using air grinder and air sander.
On the bike
Do I make one and try to produce better jig or be happy I have a process?

Great effort and good thinking.
Build a throttle that works for your build, and redisgn the jig later?

About the internal throttle...
Your attempt to make a fixture started me thinking about this.
Can a throttle be made in a little different way that wouldn't require milling and/or grinding a slot?
Maybe this has been done or tried before, Haven't been researching it, but could solid round stock be used for the center of the mechanism, and flat bar stock wrapped around it in a spiral pattern?
If the flat stock is thick enough, would the pin follow the spiral groove well enough to operate properly?
I don't know how far the pin needs to fit into the groove.
The solid round stock, and the flat stock would need to be sized appropriately to build a grooved spiral with the correct internal diameter.
Thats what I'm picturing in my mind anyway.

Re: La Puttana ------Build------ Ride her hard, Sell her Che
No you are saying to weld two strips of flat stock to a bar put two bearings each end of handle and a floating pin with bearing to follow the slot?
Then a external holder like above?
Humm not sure what would keep the pin upright unlees the pin with bearing was made one piece and slid on with the external sleave tube?
Am I following?
Man this is a cool thought???
Here is pics of types I studied before going this route but never thought of yours!
Maybe do a autocad schetch of it?
Pics
They sell the gears all types cheap?
http://www.amazon.com/Bevel-die-cast-Zn ... B0087EGOFG
I wanted to keep my stuff hidden since bike will be driven a lot all weather if i get stuck out in rain?
