Little inside joke here? Always Wear Protection when riding a Whore right?
I will not profess to being a expert at this but, a GOOD friend [Dusty] told and taught me how he did lettering. In fact have never held a air brush before this bike. Printed off my script.
Cut it out with a exacto knife.
Trimmed the paper down so it would conform to the helmet.
Used hot soapy water and wet the helmet and paper templete.
Stuck it to the helmet and added all the little pieces for the A's and O's.
Taped the edges down.
Built a box out of tape to keep the over spray in.
Air brushed the color.
Painted.
Used and exacto knife to pull the little A and O pieces out. Then lightly scratched the places around the letters I wanted to clean up.
Used scotch brite to take off any over spray off that may have got under paper.
Done.

I got the lace patterns I wanted done. These will sit until tomorrow then be taped off for the white pinstripes. Laying out on a color change start with 1/8in fine tape.
Paper over the script written so no chance of it pulling off with the tape.
Then 1/4 in tape is used.
Then 1/2 in tape.
Then 2 in tape.
The lace is cut to fit and taped on.
Painted
Lace Removed

Re: La Puttana ------Build------ Ride her hard, Sell her Che
There is a story behind the script on this helmet. I bought my bike out the back of a dark shed in a alley. CHEAP! She had several riders before me. When I took it home I fucked it over and I put money in it for rides.
I named the bike La Puttana which means The Whore and what good Whore is not covered in glitter and lace?
As a joke painted the Helmet to match the bike and wrote the script on there because if you are riding a Whore you need protection? Thought this was a good picture of it.
Got all the parts out my booth.
Preparing the engine to install. The bike is too pretty now not to clean the engine and this will allow the paint to cure. Taped off the side covers
Layed the lace out and spray painted.
Used a dremel and a electric engraver.
Engraved the out line on ingnition cover.
Time lapes a few hrs and got the ingnition cover engraved.

Re: La Puttana ------Build------ Ride her hard, Sell her Che
If you could color between the lines as a kid and have a half way stead hand it is easy to engrave. You only need 2 power tools a electric engraver and a Rotary dremel. First prepped the areas just so my paint and tape would stick with scotch brite and sandpaper.
Put tape down to set my border for engraving.
I am using the lace that was used in my paint design for the engraving but, you can hand draw the graphics out or spray paint thru a stencil like when air brushing.
Lace removed and design on the part being engraved.
Used a marker to mark the edge of the border tape both sides.
The first of the two tools you will need a electric engraver with a carbide bit. The bit will come with the engraver and will cost about 30$. A engraver with a stroke adjustment is best and to put it on the lowest stroke possible setting for the most control.
Picture of the carbide tool for the engraver.
Engrave the outline of the images you want. This will give you a easy way to see the design for the next step.
The part that has been electric engraved along all the outlines.
The second tool you will need is a electric rotary dremel. Buy one that fits your hand well. You can see I am holding this one like a pencil. Use you second hand to help stead while engraving. You can buy these for 30$.
The bit for the electric rotary tool a 1/16th inch ball cutter. Part number for dremel is bit 106. This will cost you for a set of two 10$.
http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Tools/Pages ... aXisfmVR1s
The tool spins the bit to the right when you are holding the dremel. It is best to let the tool do what it wants to do and with very slight pressure go from left to right along all the engraved out lines.
Now with the rotary dremel with the 1/16 ball cutter just grind the open spaces out on the design. Go back and forth in 1/4 inch to 3/8ths inch wide patterns until the total area needed is ground.
I will put the border in last with out engraving the outer edge lines with the electric engraver. This allows you to open the design up if needed because of the tool slipping out of main pattern.
Now with the electric engraver go over any edge lines you want to clean up and add the little lines in the design.
Finished engraving. The guys who do this charge 50 dollars an hr and I have over 60 hrs in this engine. For the average person they could not afford that but, for under 100$ you can do it yourself.

Got the engravings painted. You use different paint for this. Comes in a can Rustoleum BBQ satin black and hand paint with small brushes.
