Lil Bob

Post by oldboy »

HI Guys
As I said in the bull pen http://www.choppercompendium.com/ccforu ... f=14&t=714

Here's my Lil Bob

It looked like this after I had got it running and roadworthy.

Image

All I had done here was to wrap the exhausts, and remove the furniture that the Japs like to clothe everything in, I hated the rear end!!

So whilst keeping it rideable, I started to go around it making various mods, like bobbing the front and rear fender, moving the reg plate to the side, I didn't like the riding position with the half ape hangers so I put a set of drag bars on - then I had to extend the handlebar clamps - etc etc - you know how it goes - one thing leads to another.

Here's how it looks now

Image

that seat has to go!!

Image

So that's where she is now, I know its not a 'propper' chopper build but a little fun. Any suggestions or observations gratefully received (My mates have already told me to torch it, so I wont get offended!1)

I do have a lot more that will be done as the months roll by....

Yea got the rear fender and single seat coming, I also have a set of pod filters sitting in the workshop, so I can get rid of the airbox and use the space for the electrics, then once the electircs are moved I will lose the clocks and ignition switch (going with a remote starter/alarm), horn and fuse box from the front end and just go to a mini speedo and a bates 5in front light. I have a top triple from a vulcan coming which is cleaner than the EN although I dont know if it will fit, if not I will knock up a new top triple, I also plan to micro switch the controls and lose as much of the wiring off the bars as possible..
The rear end will be dumped another Inch or so by using shorter stiffer shocks, obviously single seat and rear fender attached to the swing arm, I also plan to stick a bum perch on the rear fender so my wife can hop on the back. might shorten the rear frame - dont know about that yet.....

As you say sitting in my man cave supping beers makes the possibilities expand a little.......

SELF INTRODUCTION: Hi Dan, thanks for your time and energy spent on this new board. I hope you will give me a waiver on the email account, I have used gmail so long I don't have a clue what my service provider account is.
I just returned home from a 2 week trip in New Mexico, have a few good pix, can't wait to share my off-highway traveling. Got to put 1400 miles on the scoot.
