Sorry guys needed a little time off for my birthday with faimly will be back at it now.

Built a couple more tools.

Mounted a old bowling ball by threading one of the finger holes and threading a 3/4 bolt in there.

Image

Tapered 2 bolts on my lathe and made a tool for shrinking metal. You bend the sheet to get a tuck the hammer the mouth down to shrink and make curves inward.

The tank is rough formed now using the buck. I cut it open and will weld from the inside all the seams with a tig welder. The hammer the final shape after to get close to perfect. Will go use a friends tig welder next week. After that the tunnel will be made the the tank close welded.

I have close welded the top seam of the 2 pieces and it has passed the water tests. It finally is looking like a tank.

I do not have my fuel system parts yet so will stop here for now and when i get them finish the tank. I want to hide as much stuff inside the tank as possible so do not know exactly how the tunnel will be yet.

But now i can build the handle bars and also make the steering stops knowing where and what shape the tank is.

Will work on rear fender now.

Thanks Good Friend!

Got my sheet metal buck for the seat pan made.

This will hide my springs for seat and also hide my chain idler wheel to protect the frame.

It will be welded to the fender and be part of it.

Not being picky mate, but styling wise you have an I beam bike with a roundy tank.... Did you not consider a more angular tank to go with the rest of the bike?

Was the exact tank i wanted. I am weird like that?

2 days in this.
Day 1 modifying the buck to get the 1/2 in rod where i needed to check against buck for shape. Also looked and it seemed to look better with a lower back to me. Try to flow into the mudguard.
Seats suck you sit on them 100 times stand and look until you are sure you can put miles and miles on it when done.

Day 2 making the outer skeleton out of the round bar and it had to be the right shape while being strong enough not to collapse under me. Lots of bend check bend check shape.

SELF INTRODUCTION: I was on the last board as bonustoolkit. I have changed that to my given name.
I started a project build there " File and Fit." I paln to continue that when I go back home in Dec. 2011. I first joined the board when Gary W had it in the year 2005. That was the time I really gained an interest in building chops. I have a long way to go, compared to some here.
