Got the front tank mount done and fitted the tunnel better for welding.
Made the rear mount sections to insert into the tank to hide the bolts there.

Dude I love the inspiration you have given me from not just this build, but your other builds also.
And your picture on face book with you and your daughter, it is precious and you need to get a hard copy of it before your computer crashes and you lose it. Hang it on the wall!

So I have not rode for almost 15 years, been a long time. I pulled my leather jacket out of the closet, and one thing from my old triumph is the leather saddle bags. Man the leather is dry, nice patina but needs work.
I started making my first part of my next bike, is the mirrors. Next will be the headlight and tail light.
I will follow some of the steps you used, and makes your posts with lots of pictures very helpful.
Keep it up and Thank You.

What a excellent way to use the heim's, they fit so well in the industrial look of the bike.
Glad to see others are out in the shop besides me, working off the turkey and pie

Nathan, I already have you on fb as Fred Larsen. I use my real name not the fool name.
And working on a introductory thread now.

Thanks Guys!

IRS fronts are known to sometimes flex the rockers with the suspensions independant from each other so, the heim joints were needed I thought so not to fight that action if it happens.

Modified the coil mounts and hid the horn under the tank.

Got the other grip done. Was asked in a couple places about the process so, took full picture set this grip. The throttle reuse the stock plastic liner pressed or glued in and the clutch side set screw.

1. Take solid stock of large enough size and drill and turn to largest diameter.

Image

2. Turn any smaller sizes.

Image

Image

3. knurl.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

4. Clean up edges of knurl by returning to them.

Image

5. Bevel the edges with tool.

Image

6. Use boring bar to machine to inner diameter needed.

Image

7. Bevel inner edge.

Image

8. Part the piece off.

Image

9. Turn grip around and make shape or design wanted on outer part of it.

Image

10. Drill and tap for set screw.

11. Install.

Image

Image

Made a brace and cut 4 pieces the same.

Image

Welded a brace on them.
