Welded a battery box up. Could not fix the hinges until I knew excatly how the outer engraving plate bolted up. So, made a g code from a image cnc engraved that. Then worked hand engraving the plate.

Image

Image

Got it roughed in ready to do the final hand engraving make it look 3D.

Started with a image.

Video of the cnc engraver doing its thing.

Image

Layout of design

Image

Cut to shape of box door.

Image

Image

Put in the mill and cut the border in.

Image

Used a dremel and cut the rough cut around the images.

Image

Used a engraver and traced the fracture lines.

Image

Rough dremel cut those out.

Image

Image

The engraving needs to be deeper so I can make the banners and guy with more depth. Now that I have the edges seen easy put the piece back in the mill and hand cranked cut .125 deep.

I am Banned from the JJ now.

I go to his blog and there is another forum I can talk to him at. He sees and follows my work and post there sometimes. He actually talks a bit there unlike the JJ

Electric engraved it.

Image

Went around image with a 1/16th ball cutter.

Image

Then 3/16ths in ball cutter.

Image

Ground the open spaces.

Image

Repeated that 2 more times.

Image

Put the background in it by just tapping the ball cutter.
