You can use this program to make and check G-code changes without having to download into the machine!!
You can sit on your couch open the files in a windows or similar operating system and examine it or change it before you download to machine!!
Add text or compile multiple programs togther!!
Makes it easier sometimes!!

Cool, I use Mastercam for everything. I can backplot and verify all the cutterpaths using 3D graphics. It's pretty cool. I do have another one for editing programs, but I usually just use it for linking and looping programs. So I got started. I may end up completely re-doing the frame because I didn't get an expert opinion on the material.
Squared up a piece of QC-10 and put a hole on 17.5* for the magazine. The block size is with is .0005 of actual dimensions. Well within tolerance. The actual slot will be put in with a wire-edm machine (the hole is to feed the wire thru). That's next.
Also ordered a couple "woodruff" cutters for some undercuts.

Cutters came in today. I forgot to order one tho. And, I'm going to have to customize a couple of these to make them work. That'll be a bit later.

Made a little progress today. Some areas of the receiver can't be machined by conventional milling. I'll be using an edm machine for that. I made up a set of electrodes for the first "burn". There's actually 5 electrodes, but only 3 were done when I took the pic.
I probably won't get to the edm part for quite some time.

funny you posted this as Gary and i built different weapon systems as another hobby. i like to build my own platforms. i like the weapon to look like nothing else out there. gary applied his garage tool building to weapons. right now he is working on a MAC style M11/9 using a drill press and dremel and hand files.

I started a project build there " File and Fit." I paln to continue that when I go back home in Dec. 2011. I first joined the board when Gary W had it in the year 2005. That was the time I really gained an interest in building chops. I have a long way to go, compared to some here.

- SELF INTRODUCTION: I'm a retired construction electrician, 65 years old been playing with bikes off and on for over 45 years now live in Sedro Woolley Washington was one of first members of the old board after following Gary from chopper web. Now ride a Yamaha Road Star and have four other project bikes waiting have two total knee replacements and L&I has decided to retrain me so am back in college learning Auto Cad, Solidworks, and Catia so when I grow up I can re-enter the job market

and Commercial M1911 type Pistols A Shop Manual. They give specs. and operating theory. A gain I look forward to following this thread.
