Actually no.
But flipping the ring is the easiest way to do it.
I flipped the entire trans. Just took some internal machine work on the oiling. It made my engine be six inches lower than "normal would be.

Re: Front engined VW
Back to the scooter.. Getting a rechop and rebuild. Engine is going 2387cc fuel injected and distributer less. I have collected a pile of parts and pieces and started some machine work. A lonnnnnnnng way to go. But the rockers ended up simple straight forward items. Same geometry but no frills. 2014...

Re: Front engined VW
Well the little 11yr old girl took up dirt track oval racing. I have been heavy into being pit crew. So i have not been working on the scooter until recently. She is getting competitive. On pace in the mix and getting good at driving sideways. http://i778.photobucket.com/albums/yy65/superexification...

Re: Front engined VW
I did check out the hossack.
It may be something I do when the next build comes along. Just not what I want this time.
The rockers might get some more machine work to improve the looks. But I don't think they will ever look real.
I just want something different.

Re: Front engined VW
Now I am building a springer style fork for it. ? No problem. I guess I took the term "now" literally. Good luck. I guess it is from being an engineer type...... I just gotta plan it all out, draw it every which way and such. Change my mind and throw it all away, start over.... For myself...

Re: Front engined VW
By the way , WTF is a "snusnu" and why would you want to "do it till you die "?   :obscene-drinkingcheers: It is an obscure reference to a cartoon named Futurama. In one episode (Amazon Women In the Mood), Snusnu equals sex. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8036...

Re: Front engined VW
I would , if building it myself anyway , consider a girder or a hossack for a trike instead of a tele or a springer ! Much stronger and easier to build in the geometry you need for a trike ! Have considered a girder but just aint what I want it to look like...... just me. I am trying to do somethin...

Re: Front engined VW
Yes Nathan it will wheelie in first and second gear. It will outrun a lot of bikes on the road but not all by any means. I have a bud with a v-rod with pipes and a tuner that it is all I can do to stay right behind him. But in no way could I ever get around him.Customize IT wrote:Wheelies Rodded????

Re: Front engined VW
Thanks for the replies. I have looked over the threads. I am good on the geometry that I want and I have the ability to build most anything I want to. Just looking for some first hand experience with trike forks. I am gonna build short and stocky and in stainless steel. I also treat mine pretty roug...
