The way I understand tubeless spoke wheels is they put a silicone ring of some sort in the center part of the rim where the spokes are. So, the module is not looking for a specific signal, but rather looking for a change of a signal.
I remember the pickup coils in the GM distributor would generate an a/c signal, and the reluctor would change that signal.

Ahhh, Makes sense.
