One of the things I realized after the fact was that the chain is likely to hit the shifter. I made a little guide for the chain to run in & keep it up & away from the shifter. While doing some adjustments to the linkage for the shifter, it seems that its a little tight. I dont know whether the linkage is at to much of an angle or what. Ill be working that out over the weekend.

Turns out a couple heim joints in the linkage were bad. Replaced 2 & now shifts smooth. Heads on, the exhaust wrapped & I put the muffler on the buffer for a minute.Ill be powdering the rocker covers & working on a mount to secure the font of the pipes to the frame over the weekend.

Yeah…think it’s getting close. Have no idea when my mag parts will get here. Still some odds & ends I can tighten up until then.

Powdered a few covers for the head. I wanted to buff them but they were in poor shape. I think I also decided that Im going to run a single carb, so Ill be making a manifold.

The new powder coat has a nice brass look to it.

made an intake. The way I made it wasnt my 1st choice, but until I can make a radius to bend the tube it will do. needs quite a bit of finish work that Ill put on hold till after it starts up. The mag parts Ive been waiting on finally got here. Now to figure out & make an air cleaner. And I'm going back to work tomorrow so wont be spending the time on this as I would like (depending on how long I stay working).

I remade the intake. Came out much better than the 1st one. I still have to decide whether to run the carb straight out of the intake or angle it to have more room for the air cleaner. I put in the parts for the mag & realized I have no way to test it. Planned to send it out & was quoted $400.00-$700.00 to rebuild. I did a search to see if there is an electronic conversion & found one. It uses the mag as a housing & its not reqired that it work. Sucks that I put out for some parts that will be shelved, but will still come out ahead price wise.

I got the valves adjusted & will do a compression test over the weekend. My dumb ass didnt think about wiring untill now & now I have to figure out making wires as invisible as possible. I made this cover that sits on top of the engine plates to hold the switches. It will also hide (for the most part) the wires.

I kinda like vintage style wire string laced and left right out there for everybody to see.

That looks clean. Mainly the cover will be to hide the fuses. Some of the wires will be visible but hopefully discreet.
