playing on the new toy made a neck cup and some progress on the frame all the welding is done now just smoothing the welds out . didnt get pics will tomorrow but also took the springer apart and put in some lathe time squaring the legs up and making sure theyre exactly the same height plus sanding the tubes is way faster in the lathe

What size is that new lathe of yours? The picture makes it look really tiny for something with an inch and a half spindle bore.

That is kinda small for a spindle bore of that size, good score.
What material did you use for the neck cup?
I've wanted to make some nice shiny ones out of stainless but I get sticker shock every time I look at the price of that stuff.

picked up a new toy not as good as my old southbend 9 but it has a few features im starting to like . electronic leadscrew and the 1 1/2 through hole for making those perfect same length springer legs . i need to learn how to make the spuds for the bottom now . but back to the chop soon
Damn…I have a 10” swing & spindle bore is 3/4”. You could make a milling attachment for it to do the spuds.

Curt, if you need some spuds for more springer legs let me know I have a bunch I made up, I'll give you a really good deal on them.
