SELF INTRODUCTION: Been building, fettling and racing motorcycle's since 1969 - now mucking about with a Japanese custom a 1987 EN450 Kwaker - plan is to re-model and style it into a bobber/chopper type thing.... I also have a 1986 Suzuki GSX750 planning to play with this one over the winter this will be an AMA superbike replice/streetfighter type thing
HI Mate - you do know that you don't need the collant expansion tank don't ya? - I just run a hidden pipe from the rad overflow to the road, just thought it might help clean up the look a little....
SELF INTRODUCTION: hi everyone its me from the old bord hopeing to see everyone come here and all the newcomers . lets make this as good as the old one or even better . lookin foreward to seeing everyones projects continue and ill be continueing mine too
I played around with adding teeth with paint to the radaitor shield?
I added a section to the base of the battery box to lower battery and mounted the new sealed battery because it is on it side at a small tilt.
I added a plate to the rear to seal from the tire throwing water into the battery box.
I have enough room for the ingnitor fuse box capacitor for reserve lighting and the flasher relay in the battery box.
I made a plate and mounted the rectifier/regulator and starter relay by foot peg and made upper shield to keep water off them. The rectifier regulator combo needs to be air cooled anyway.
I made new footpegs using the old ones and 1in dom tube then the aluminum sleaves and some o rings.
I made the handle bar grips and went with a narrow look only big enough for your hand. Should look Custom.
Also cut the levers back too 3 fingers instead of 4.
I also added the foam to the bottom of the fuel tank so it does not rub a hole on the bars.
SELF INTRODUCTION: Hi, bike restorer of 25 years, hoping to step up with an outside the box (for me) build and seeking inspiration, tech assist and bling. Based in Australia I'm a builder of parts as we have few suppliers of non standard parts.
Funny, while I didn't have the desire to actually ride a chopper of any length, and our laws here in Aus make it almost impossible to road register one, I've been an avid follower of this build and the Star by Spidr. Amazing stuff! You guys need a belly full of booze and a pat on the back, the engineering is absolutely incredible.
I'll be the first to say that when you posted up those rough sketches of what you were trying to do, I wasn't enthusiastic.... put that down to my lack of imagination. Now I can 'see' this thing, I'm more than impressed. Seriously, if we were in the same country Id hop into the truck grab a slab of beer and drive on over, just to chew the fat and look at the beast in the flesh.....
I have several machines which will never hit the road again, my rogues gallery that I wander around (with a beer) polish and occasionally start up (Ducati, Triumph and others), I NOW don't see why a (never to be registered) chopper couldn't be part of that harem.....
You know a Ducati chopper sounds interesting to me.
I got the horn mounted.
Cut 3/8 hose and slid on my steering stops for bumpers no paint chipping..
Made side covers to bring the body work out uniform.
Made turn signals. These lights can be slid right into 1 dom tube for other possiblities and come in red and yellow just need a 3/4 in hole. 7$ each for them. Got at O'reilly auto parts.

Got my side cover changed out from where the previous owner had dropped it and put the foot peg thru the case. The reason the bike was parked and sold.

SELF INTRODUCTION: I was on the last board as bonustoolkit. I have changed that to my given name. I started a project build there " File and Fit." I paln to continue that when I go back home in Dec. 2011. I first joined the board when Gary W had it in the year 2005. That was the time I really gained an interest in building chops. I have a long way to go, compared to some here.
